Rascal-Big-Crease/Popper Fly

Say hello to another from our dam sexy top-selling Rascal fishing fly range. Welcome to The Big Rascal. (larger Rascal in photo) The larger-sized Bait-fish version in our Rascal range is just over 3 inches long the Baby Rascal is 2 and a half inches long, though still easy and light to cast, with basically zero water retention. One of our surface-popping, chaos-making Crease Fly /Popper Rascal fly designs was born, water and fish tested in Cape York, Australia, while our founder worked there as a saltwater fly fishing guide back in the day, nearly two decades ago. So it's a fly design that's stood the test of fish-catching time.

Field tested on the ocean on Tuna, Queenfish, and the odd freshwater Saratoga. However, it has also caught big trout on the surface, here in NZ, more so in evenings and estuaries when trout target smelt coming in. Smash and grab fly fishing at its finest. A fly that will take predators in the deep jungles to the salt flats.

It has a reflective clear lacquered coated hard but flexible body and a twitchy listening UV glinting Barred body/ extended synthetic tail. A large fish eye and a painted orange hi-viz open head help you quickly locate it upon the water.

The hollow, open head is there for catching/pushing water and thus adds movement to the fly when you strip, slide and pop it. It's accompanied and graced with a wide-gaped Japanese, strong saltwater Gamakatsu SL12S Fly hook. We don't mess around for you to catch and not lose fish. Nothing but the best. Remember, Having more than one good fly in the correct size is always good. So, the more significant the pack, the better; that way, you will have a few staple flies doubled and trebled up in the pack selection.
