Green Monkey

 The Green Monkey is a proven favourite. It was designed in New Zealand in Southland, inStu's back garden. It is an easy-to-see generic fly representing a myriad of trout tuckers, from mayflies to blowflies, etc.

It is light and easy to cast, has a foam segmented body and an overhanging rear section to help it sit horizontally on the surface; as with this, a fly will dip down under the weight of the hook- are we genius ! with our designs?

An excellent searching fly, very easy to see and a good one to suspend a wee light Hot Dog Mayfly nymph under! Easy to see and an all-round dry fly to have.

Remember, Having more than one good fly and the right size is always good. So, the more significant the pack, the better; that way, you will have a few staple flies doubled and trebled up in the pack selection.
